Real scoring plays, not a bare counter

A generic +1 counter cannot keep the football score. This American football scorekeeper speaks the actual plays: touchdown for 6 with touchdown scoring done right, field goal for 3, safety for 2. Tap the play that happened and the right points land on the right side, every time. That is what makes the score trustworthy at 21 to 17 in the fourth, when nobody remembers whether that second touchdown was converted.

The conversion, never forgotten

After a touchdown, the scoring team's menu switches to the conversion: extra point kick for 1, two point conversion for 2, or no good. Nothing else can be scored until it is chosen, so the point after is never forgotten (on Apple Watch the choice pops up by itself). If a play gets waved off, undo removes the last entry: undo the conversion to choose again, or undo twice to take the touchdown off too.

Quarters or halves

Games run over four quarters by default, with a two-halves option for shorter formats. A tie after the last period is recorded as a draw; there is no overtime. It is built for flag football, backyard games, intramurals and keeping score while you watch along.
