Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Sport Score Tracker is built to be private by design. The app works fully offline, has no accounts, shows no ads and contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. This page explains exactly what data exists, where it lives and the small number of cases where anything leaves your device.

The short version

Data stored on your device

Everything you create in the app stays in the app's local storage on your iPhone and, for the watch app, on your Apple Watch: match history and live matches, player names and photos you add to your roster, your profile name and avatar, achievements, statistics derived from your matches, and your settings. Deleting the app deletes this data. It is included in your normal device backup (iCloud or computer), which is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Purchases (Apple and RevenueCat)

Payments for the optional Pro subscription are processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never see your payment details. To validate purchases and remember your entitlement, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives purchase receipt information from Apple and a random, anonymous app-generated identifier. It is not linked to your name, email or any account, because none exist. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Apple Search Ads attribution

If we run ads on the App Store, Apple provides an anonymous attribution token that tells us whether an install came from one of those ads. The app requests this token once after install and it is used only in aggregate to understand which ads work. It contains no identity, no device fingerprint and no advertising identifier (no IDFA), and we never ask for app tracking permission because the app does not track you.

Health and workout data

If you turn on workout tracking, the Apple Watch app records your match as a workout: heart rate, active energy and duration. This data is written to Apple Health on your device and a summary is stored with the match in the app's local storage. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party. You can revoke Health access at any time in the Health app, and workout tracking is entirely optional.

Live sharing (nearby and SharePlay)

If you invite friends to watch a match live, the score is shared directly between devices: nearby over a local peer-to-peer connection, or remotely over Apple's SharePlay during a FaceTime call. Only the live score, team or player names and basic match info are shared, only with the people you invite, and only while sharing is active. We operate no relay servers and never receive this data. SharePlay itself is provided by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

What we never collect

This website

sportscoretracker.com is a static site. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers of any kind. Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes standard web requests, including your IP address, for the sole purpose of serving the pages and protecting against abuse. The only thing the site ever stores in your browser is your light or dark theme choice, if you use the toggle, in local storage. Details on the cookies page.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children. Purchases require App Store authentication managed by Apple and, where set up, Family Sharing approval.

Your rights and data deletion

Because your data lives on your device, you are always in control: delete a match, a player or the whole app at any time. For purchase data held by Apple or RevenueCat, you can exercise your rights (access, deletion) with those providers; email us and we will help route the request.

Changes

If the app ever changes what it collects, this policy will be updated here first, with the date above.
