One tap per goal, at handball pace

Handball is fast, and a match easily runs to 25 or 30 goals a side, so the scorer cannot afford a menu between the goal and the tap. This handball scorekeeper asks for one thing: tap the side that scored. The running score, the half and the result follow from that, and undo is always one tap away when the referee waves a goal off or you tap the wrong bench.

Two halves, and extra time done properly

A match is two halves: tap Next half at the break and End match at the final whistle. A level score at full time is recorded as a draw by default, which is how league handball works. Playing a knockout game? Turn on Extra time when level and a tied match goes to extra time as a pair of halves, not sudden death: a team that leads after the first extra half has not won yet. Still level after both? Play another pair, or end it there as a draw.

Built for club halls, youth matches and school tournaments

No lineup admin and no signal required, so it suits the games where the hall scoreboard is broken or there never was one: youth fixtures, recreational leagues, school tournaments and training matches. Share the score, keep the record

Parents in the stand can follow the live score nearby on their own phones, or from home over FaceTime SharePlay, and you can AirPlay a read-only scoreboard to a TV in the hall. Afterwards the match is saved with its score by half, biggest lead, lead changes and longest scoring run, so the season has a record.

Handball scoring questions

How do I keep score in handball with the app?

Tap the team that scored and the app adds the goal. Tap Next half at half time and End match at the final whistle. Every goal can be undone with one tap.

Does it handle extra time?

Yes. Turn on Extra time when level and a tied match goes to extra time as a pair of halves. Leading after the first extra half does not end the match; the result is decided after the second. If the scores are still level you can play another pair or end the match as a draw.

Does it run the match clock or two minute suspensions?

No. The app keeps the score and the halves, not the clock, so timekeeping, suspensions and team timeouts stay with the timekeeper. That is what keeps scoring to one tap per goal.

Can it decide a match on 7 metre throws?

Not at the moment. A knockout match that is still level after extra time is recorded as a draw.

Can I score handball from my Apple Watch?

Yes. The watch app scores handball with the same one tap per goal, and it can record the match as a workout with heart rate and calories in Apple Health.

Is the handball score tracker free?
