The best cricket scoring apps for iPhone
Short answer: club scorers whose league reports to Play-Cricket should use Play-Cricket Scorer, the ECB's app, which uploads results to Play-Cricket.com. For live streaming and tournaments, look at CricHeroes; for free scoring with a live score online, Stumps; for gully rules scored from the watch, GullyScore. Sport Score Tracker (our app) keeps a quick team score for T20, ODI, T10 or The Hundred on iPhone or Apple Watch, offline and with no account, but it keeps no player scorecards and needs a Pro subscription.
We make Sport Score Tracker, so we have kept this page to what each developer says about its own app, and we say where our app falls short. A cricket scoring app turns the balls you enter into the running score: runs, wickets, overs and extras. Apps differ in how much detail they keep, whether they work without a signal or from your wrist, and what they add on top.

The first four rows come from each app's App Store listing and, where noted, the developer's own help pages or blog, as we read them on 25 September 2026. The Sport Score Tracker row was checked on the same date.
Extras are the detail to test first. Under the Laws, a wide adds 1 penalty run, as does a no-ball, and the ball is bowled again. But a wide that runs to the boundary counts as 5 wides, and a no-ball hit for six is worth 7 runs. If your matches need those balls recorded exactly, check that the app can add runs to a wide or no-ball. For the scoring itself, see our guide to how to keep score in cricket.
Which app for which player
Best for league scorers in England and Wales: Play-Cricket Scorer
The England and Wales Cricket Board's scoring app for iPhone and iPad. It scores a match and uploads it automatically to Play-Cricket.com, the ECB's platform for running competitions and recording results.
- Best at: league scoring. The listing says it is built for recreational cricket and gives all the detail of a traditional scoresheet, with single-innings or two-innings games, a ball-by-ball breakdown and full editing of balls and overs. Team and player statistics upload to Play-Cricket.com as you score, or once you have a connection after the match.
- Apple Watch: the listing does not mention a Watch app.
- Offline: yes, with a step first. The ECB's help pages say you download the match to the app while connected, score it offline, and finalise it the next time you log in.
- Pricing model: free to download.
- Limitation: it is built around Play-Cricket. The ECB's help pages say you need a Play-Cricket account, membership of the club you score for, and Scorer or Results Administrator rights to upload results, so check with your club first.
Best for live streaming and tournaments: CricHeroes
A ball-by-ball scoring app from CricHeroes Private Limited, built around local matches and tournaments.
- Best at: sharing a match. The listing describes live, ball-by-ball scores and full scorecards that friends and family can follow, live streaming from a phone or through tools such as OBS or vMix, and tournament organising.
- Apple Watch: CricHeroes' blog describes a Watch app for following live scores and player insights. It does not say you can score on the watch.
- Offline: not stated on the listing we read.
- Pricing model: free to download, with in-app purchases. CricHeroes PRO, a paid membership, adds an ad-free experience, detailed insights and free live streams, according to CricHeroes' blog.
- Other features: wagon wheel, Manhattan and worm charts, run rate graphs and an MVP ranking.
- Limitation: much of what it offers is online: live scores, streams and player profiles. The listing does not spell out which scoring features work without a signal.
Best for free scoring with a live score online: Stumps
A cricket scoring app from Diyas Coders Private Limited for matches and tournaments of all kinds.
- Best at: a full score at no cost. The listing says all its features are free, and it publishes a ball-by-ball live score that others can follow.
- Apple Watch: the listing does not mention a Watch app.
- Offline: the listing says scoring can continue offline when the network is interrupted.
- Pricing model: free; the listing says all features are free.
- Other features: wagon wheel, over and runs comparison charts, automated voice commentary, tournament management, and editing or replacing a player on the scorecard.
- Limitation: the listing does not say whether it sends results to a league website.
Best for gully and backyard cricket on the wrist: GullyScore
A gully cricket scorer listed by Chandra Kishore Danduri, for street, park and backyard games.
- Best at: house rules. The listing mentions a No LBW toggle, flexible overs, common players who play for both teams, and random or auto-balanced teams, with a scoring pad for runs, wides, no-balls, byes, leg-byes and wickets.
- Apple Watch: the listing says you can score from your Apple Watch or your phone. It does not say whether the watch needs the phone nearby.
- Offline: not stated on the listing.
- Pricing model: not stated in the listing text we read, so check the listing.
- Other features: live win probability, career stats, and a spectator view with Live, Scorecard and Analytics tabs.
- Limitation: the listing does not say whether it works without a signal or what it costs, so check both before match day.
Best for a quick team score in T20, ODI, T10 or The Hundred: Sport Score Tracker
For a casual game you mostly want the team score, the target and the result, fast, with no sign-up and no signal needed. Sport Score Tracker can work here: one tap per ball on a run pad (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 or Wicket), and Wide and No-ball each add 1 run without using up a ball. During the chase the iPhone shows the target (2nd innings · Target N), and the Apple Watch also shows Need X from Y. It works offline with no account and no ads, but you need a Pro subscription to use it.
The catch for short games: there is no custom overs setting, and wickets are always 10. With fewer than 11 a side, the innings won't end all out by itself; close it with Start 2nd innings or End innings. Do the same when a 6-over game's overs are up. The watch's Need X from Y counts the full ball allowance of the format you picked, so it is wrong for a shorter game.
You can score each ball from the watch, and, if you turn on Save Matches to Apple Health in the app's settings, the match saves as a workout. The watch works alongside the iPhone app rather than on its own: the iPhone keeps the match, and taps on the watch sync to it.
Sport Score Tracker for cricket, in detail
Our app, for iPhone and Apple Watch. It scores cricket and 17 other sports, and cricket gets its own run pad.
- Best at: a quick team score for T20, ODI, T10 or The Hundred. It works offline, needs no account and shows no ads.
- Apple Watch: score each ball from the watch, alongside the iPhone app, which keeps the match. If you turn on Save Matches to Apple Health in the app's settings, matches save as workouts.
- Offline: yes. Match data stays on your device.
- Pricing model: free to download; a Pro subscription (monthly or yearly) is required to use the app. No free trial. A new install starts a Pro plan (or restores one) at the first-run paywall; Pro covers your full match history, Insights and detailed match stats.
- Cricket scoring: T20 by default, or ODI, T10 or The Hundred (counted in balls, not overs). The score reads as runs/wickets, such as 145/3, with overs such as 18.2. Start 2nd innings sets the target at the first-innings total plus 1. The match ends when the chase reaches the target, is all out or runs out of balls, and the result shows as won by N wickets, won by N runs or Match tied. Undo removes the last ball. You can share the live score with nearby friends or over SharePlay, and show it on a TV with AirPlay.
- Match stats (Pro): for each innings, run rate, fours, sixes, boundary runs, highest over, maiden overs, dot-ball percentage and extras split into wides and no-balls, plus an over-by-over runs grid. Without an active subscription, only the score row shows and the rest is locked.
- Limitations: no batting or bowling scorecards and no ball-by-ball commentary. No bye or leg-bye buttons (byes entered with the run buttons count as runs off the bat in stats, so they also spoil a maiden). No extra runs on a wide or no-ball, no 5 on one ball, and no wicket on the same ball as runs, a wide or a no-ball. No free hit tracking. No Test or first-class cricket, custom overs, DLS targets or Super Over (a tie shows as Match tied). No toss: side A always bats first.

How we compared
We looked at what matters to a cricket scorer: whether the app keeps player scorecards or the team score only, whether it reports to a league, whether it works without a signal, whether you can score from an Apple Watch, which formats and extras it handles, and how it is paid for. For the other apps we relied only on what each developer states on its App Store listing, its own help pages or its blog, read on 25 September 2026. Where a listing does not say something, we say so rather than guess. We do not rank apps by star ratings or review counts, and no app paid to be included.
Sport Score Tracker is described from its own scoring rules and pricing, checked on 25 September 2026. Listings change and prices vary by country, so check the current App Store listing before you pay.
Questions
What is the best cricket scoring app for iPhone?
It depends on what you score. Club scorers whose league reports to Play-Cricket should use Play-Cricket Scorer. For live streaming and tournaments, CricHeroes; for free scoring with a live score online, Stumps; for gully rules scored from the watch, GullyScore. For a quick team score offline or on an Apple Watch, Sport Score Tracker scores T20, ODI, T10 and The Hundred with one tap per ball, but it keeps no player scorecards and needs a Pro subscription.
Is there a cricket scoring app that works offline?
Of the apps on this page, Play-Cricket Scorer scores offline once you have downloaded the match, and you finalise it when you are back online. The Stumps listing says scoring can continue offline when the network drops. Sport Score Tracker works offline with no account, and match data stays on your device. The CricHeroes and GullyScore listings we read do not say.
Can I score cricket on an Apple Watch?
Yes. The GullyScore listing says you can score from your Apple Watch or phone. Sport Score Tracker lets you score each ball from the watch, alongside the iPhone app, which keeps the match, and can save the match to Apple Health as a workout. The CricHeroes Watch app is for following live scores and player insights; its blog does not say you can score on it.
Does Sport Score Tracker keep batting and bowling scorecards?
No. It keeps the team score (runs, wickets, overs and extras), the target and the result. Its match stats, part of Pro, add run rate, boundaries, maiden overs, dot-ball percentage and an over-by-over runs grid for each innings, but not batter or bowler figures, fall of wickets or partnerships. Going by their listings, Play-Cricket Scorer, CricHeroes and Stumps all keep player scorecards.
Can I set my own number of overs in Sport Score Tracker?
No. You choose T20 (20 overs), ODI (50 overs), T10 (10 overs) or The Hundred (100 balls). For a shorter game, tap Start 2nd innings to close the first innings and End innings to close the chase; the Apple Watch's Need X from Y still counts the full ball allowance of the format. The GullyScore listing mentions flexible overs.
